Shilen DGR completed. The cailber A.D.D. special.

Admittedly, I have more time to dream about calibers and ballistics than I do to actually go out and shoot. Because there's so many different calibers I want to build, and there's no way I'd be able to afford a new custom rifle for each one, I decided to make a really nice switch barrel set up that should last me years to come.

Shilen DGR Long Action Standard Bolt Face
    Shilen 25-06 26" varmint barrel (2nd hand)
    Unknown barrel nut (2nd hand)
    Timney Calvin Elite Trigger
Remington PSS Stock (had to open up the barrel channel) (2nd hand)
Remington BDL bottom metal/spring/follower/box (2nd hand)
    Talley rings
Sightron SIII 20x (good magnification and tons of travel) (2nd hand)

It's only a 25-06 for now because I had a 25 caliber void to fill. I also see a 284 win, and maybe a fast twist 220 swift in it's future. Overall it's a really solid set up. I'm looking forward to playing around with it.

So thats Shilens 700 clone of the Savage action...I mean savage screw spacing, savage barrel threads, 700 mechanically? How much of the after market 700 parts fit?

The action is really a Stiller Predator with Savage Small Shank Threads and a bolt with a floating bolt head. Really it's a way to use all the Rem 700 aftermarket parts, with Savage Small Shank barrels.

I would really like to see how it shoots, as I am going to buy one of these very soon.

Very nice! I've been thinking about a build using one of these actions.

Great looking rifle. I put one together a couple years in 7mm STW- really a first rate action. You are really going to enjoy it.
