Just build one custom to your liking. Might cost a little bit extra in the long run but it will have a match grade custom barrel when your done too.
I have been thinking of buying a FTR Model 12 in .308 and having a .260 barrel replacing it for hunting. I can use the .308 barrel on my other gun or sell it. Then I real think I could just buy the LRP in .260 and be done with it. Blacked out, 26" barrel and the caliber I want. Doing research I hear they are not worth their money. Opinions needed. Yeah I know, but I want to hear from owners or others with experience. TNX

12 LRP in 260 is definitely worth the money. At least mine has been. I'm getting bug hole groups at 100 yards with no modifications (except bolt handle and CDI DBM bottom metal).

I've considered going the build route, however from what I see you can only get a single shot. Is that true? Wanting a model 12 action.
When I had Savage build my fcp-sr it ended up being basically a model 12 lrp with different bottom metal, left hand, threaded for a suppressor, and chambered in the 260. It is a shooter! The 12 lrp has a better stock. You definitely can't go wrong with a 12 lrp.
Thank you all for the comments. It helps.
You can buy a model 12 action from jim briggs at northland shooter suppy.
