    Axis 6.5 Creedmoor

Got a 22" 6.5CM barrel from Jim Briggs....take off from a Model 11...and put it on a stock Axis action. Took it out this afternoon to shoot the 100gr Nosler BT. I used the load data found at Guns & Ammo for the Nosler.

I used 38gr of IMR 8208 XBR load but went with a COAL of 2.775" COAL rather than their 2.50" Federal 210 Primer and new Hornady brass.

5 Shots=.80" Looks like 8208 is definitely a powder to consider.

I did not but they should be close to or at 3000fps.

What did Jim charge you for the takeoff tube?

    Not too much.

Going to work with the 123 Nosler Custom Competition today.
The new Hornady brass I got is definitely different than what I got a year ago. Looks like Lapua! Primer pockets are very uniform and appear to be drilled rather than punched. Cases are annealed and really close in weight. Do you suppose?

Nosler data has 3090fps with 37.5gr 8208XBR from a 24" barrel. Creedmoor is very efficient and does not lose that much velocity between 26 and 22" barrels. So I figure my estimate is very close. The Hornady Creedmoor brass I have used for the past few years has been great.
