    Year of my 219 30-30?

I have this great 'shooter' 219 and I love it! The original barrel had been opened up to 30-30AI and the owner would no sell that. So he put a 30-30 barrel that had been shortened to 20" on this frame for me. I enjoy short, light single shots so this suits me just fine as the gun will shoot an honest 3/4" at the range. Anyway, I'm a little curious as to when my gun was made. The receiver has MW17 stamped on it and also a '3' in a circle. The barrel of course is not likely to be from the same year as it is marked AW20. Does anyone out there have any idea when between 1938 and 1965 these may have been manufactured? Thanks, 44 Man

If it was made in Utica there is no way of telling when it was made as they weren't serial numbered.

The markings you have are just assembly marks.
