Smile Factory muzzle brake PLEASE HELP , ANYONE ELSE?

I just bought a barrel off here with the factory brake and was wondering if it is threaded on as I read some time ago it will unscrew. Secondly can you fix the detent to turn it on or off? Any help is much appreciated as this is a great forum with knowledgeable people to help out. I would look it up on parts finder but I need a serial of a rifle with one of these brakes on it.

Yes, they are threaded. It was very easy for them to get crud built up in them then stuck in the on of off position.

I've soaked them in a carbon cutter/ cleaner to get them to move enough to turn on or off. Once they start to move they usually clean up quick.

I've not removed one, but the best advice I've read was to insert a nail through the holes then turn it off with a claw hammer.
