    Which bore guide?

I need a few bore guides. I need one for a savage model 16 7mm WSM, a savage model 11 243, and a tikka 25-06. I was looking at the possom hollow guides but I don't understand how to read their chart. I am not sure which numbers to order? Or, is there a better choice out there?

I'm quite partial to the Sinclair bore guides with integrated solvent port. Sometimes it can be a pain to find the correct one on their site. Savages use the same guide as a rem 700, I believe they're .700" bolt diameter.

Seeing that they cost 65.00 for the basic one, a person could spend a load of money to own enough for all his rifles. If you have disposable income like some this is not an issue. I for one will stick with the sinclairs.

I broken every known bore guide made, and found they just dont hold up, I also don't own 20 plus rifles, so I use lucas guides they don't break (the handle that holds them in place), and they fit tight against the rifling.

-1 for Lucas. I have two, and am not that thrilled with them.

Thanks for all the responses. I ended up going with a possum hollow. I have only used it once so far but I really like it so far.

What exactly does your cleaning regimen entail that you break bore guides? I can't even think of a way to damage one. My universal one with handle would be hard to break and my Sinclair's don't have handles and have never backed out from where the orings are holding it in the chamber. I must be missing something here.

Save your $. They are completely not needed. How much damage are you going to to to the steel that a copper bullet at 60,000 psi does not do.

They do make it easier to get a patch in the barrel without it falling off, and to keep the cleaning chemicals out of the magazine and trigger mechanism.
