As the proud owner of my first Savage i can say that I'm pleased with my first day at the range. After sighting in my new rifle in .270 caliber I was on paper at 100 yards from the factory boar sighting. After only 4 shots I was dialed in, the next 3 groupings were all within a dime size group with remmington core lock 130 grain straight out of the box.
I have ordered a boydes stock in pepper laminate witch is going to look awsome with the stainless barrel and action! My brother has done this to his .270 in forest camo and thanks to his help we will float the barrel, up grade the trigger gaurd to stainless as well as magazine cover. We will seat it with some sort of epoxy (not sure of the exact stuff he used but it is the proper stuff lol) and up grade the action screws. I am very excited to do my first upgrade. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
We put it through his crony and will be developing some rounds that he will load for me with hornaby bullets.
All in all was very impressed with this rifle out of the box!
