Not sure what the H means.
Gimme a partial serial number and I can date it.
Either see if you can find some asterisks stamped on the barrel or measure your bores with a caliper to figure out the choke.
I recently purchased a Savage Fox Model B Series H 20 Gauge.
Three questions:
1. What does Series H mean?
2. How can I determine the age of the gun?
3. There are no choke markings on the barrels. How do I determine the choke on each barrel?
Thanks in advance for any and all advice.
Ken
One additional thought.... I'd like to locate an owners manual. Ideas?

Savage- "never say never".
Thanks Mad Dog.
The serial number is 6 digits preceeded by the letter B.
B815***
If it has 26" barrels chances are I/C and Mod - 28" is probably Mod / Full.
Easy to measure the muzzles though.

Thanks again,

Just years of jotting down data into my card catalogue.

Mad Dog,
All I can say is thanks again!
Your record keeping has helped me a lot and I see many others have benefited as well.

PS: I'm 61 and this is my first gun... purchased 2 weeks ago, so I'm a late starter. I love the simplicity and traditional lines, along with the affordable price.
Thanks Eric.... I had the barrels (26") measured a few days ago and you are right on the money!Originally Posted by Eric in NC
