    Newer 99F,,,

I have a newer, made in '71 or '72, 99F. How do I know it's actually an F. Doesn't have 99F stamped anywhere that I can see. It's a very nice rifle in great shape and I like it a lot ' I'm just curious.

Tang safety? Checkering? I'm no expert but I think those are the things that separate an F from an E.

This is the 1966 catalog, but nothing really changed on the 99's between then and 72.

Thanks for the replies Guys. It does have a tang safety, 22" barrel and the less than desirable pressed checkering. It looks like the F in the 1966 catalog.
