    Hello from a 99 Newbie in New Jersey - Why did I do this?


    Hello from New Jersey.
    I don't hunt, the .300 Savage probably has a bit too much oomph for my liking at the range, and the undrilled receiver necessitated an unreasonably pricey tang sight.
    However, something possessed me to obtain this 99G in .300 Savage from c. 1928:



    Do any of you know what might have caused me to do this?
