Need scope ideas for a 222

I have a Savage 340e that's chambered in 222 that I want to put a low power scope on for coyote hunting. I don't want to have a lot tied up into the whole package, and I don't want to feel bad about beating it up. With that being said I'd like to stay below $200, have a max power of 9x, and have a scope that is fairly reliable and holds zero. I haven't bought any "low end" scopes in a long time so I need some advice. Currently I am looking at a Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 for $120, or a Nikon buckmaster 3-9x40 for $140. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I highly recommend the Leupold VX-1 3x9 40mm. The duplex reticle, matte version is $199. It is very bright and clear. The turrets are click type with 1/4 MOA adjustments.

All three Redfield lines (Battlezone, Revenge & Revolution) have 3-9x models right at the $200 price point and have proven to be excellent scopes for the money. Definitely one of the best buys in that price range.

I recently put together a T/C Contender with a 23 in., 17HMR bbl. for my grandson. I used a Bushnell banner, dusk & dawn 3-9X40. Model #713948. ($83.00 @ Bass pro) Very clear glass, duplex reticle, finger adj. elev. & wind. I've been pretty impressed with this Korean made, Japanese optics scope for the money. I really just got lucky with this buy but, wouldn't hesitate to recommend. I normally use a 4X12 Leupold for .223 'yote hunts.
