Its been my expierence that the hardware that the egw comes with aint worth s***
egw is over priced.
Ive since gone Weaver 20 moa base on all my rigs...half the price....hardware is spot on.
Finally acquired a new Model 10 FCP-5R and after reading numerous posts on this forum, can't wait to shoot it. I won't be doing any competitive shooting but an occasional hunt and some fun target shooting out to 600yds is about all the action it will see. Till then, I'm researching some other accessories and have narrowed it down to the following:
- Vortex Viper HS-T 4-16X44 OR the Viper 4-12X40 scope OR a similar SWFA
- EGW 20 MOA base
- Burris Extreme Tactical Rings
- Harris Bipod (9-13") or Blackhawk Sportster TraverseTrack Bipod (9-13")
Still have to find a cheek pad/rest but I do have a question about the EGW base. Is it common to have to apply a filler to install these or are they fairly tight out of the package? Any thoughts/experiences with my potential additions? I'd post a pic when the project is complete!

I have an EGW and a Weaver one piece base, both 0 MOA, each installed on its own flat back 110. Before installation both needed bedding. If your budget allows I would select the EGW it sets higher and therefore has more room to load the rifle (blind mag). They even have a steel 20 MOA base if that strikes your fancy.
My Setup - Savage 10FCPK .308
Vortex Viper PST 6-24x 50mm MOA Reticle
Millett 1-Piece Picatinny-Style Scope Base
Burris medium 30mm Signature Zee Rings
Leapers UTG Gen Mid Pro Shooters Bipod
BlackHawk IVS Rifle Cheek Rest

I saw NightForce has a 20 MOA base, think MidWayUSA has them for $116
the Murphy precision bases have fit perfect on my riffles.
I have installed a few EGW bases on my rifles and haven't had a problem with them. Both the Vortex and the SWFA scopes should have plenty of elevation to get out of 600 yards.
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
