Cool Soon to be Savage Owner--- Just need some help!

Hello all and thank you in advance for taking your time to read this!

I am currently stuck between purchasing the Savage Axis XP ii (Camo) or the Savage 11/111 Trophy Hunter XP (black).

Both would be in .308 chamber. My question is what are the differences between the 2 rifles? The axis 2 is showing it is lighter 6.5 vs 7.2 lbs. The Trophy Hunter has the Nikon Scope but not sure if that is better than the Kaspan.

With the rebates I can purchase:
Axis 2 camo shipped to my FFL for $319.99 after rebates
    Trophy Hunter " " $341.99 after rebates

Any and all help is appreciated. This will be my first rifle and by no means needing anything for competition shooting or serious upgrades. Just want a rifle to have when going hunting in Florida/Georgia.

Either of those are going to be good. I would spend the extra $20 and get the 10. If you ever went to sell or upgrade it would be easier. That's just my .02

The 11/111 offers a wider range of replacement part and upgrades, just in case you want to improve or upgrade the rifle in the future.

Is there any differences in the "quality of parts" stock on either of the rifles? Since the Axis 2 is "newer" in production does it have any advantages over the trophy?

No, the Axis has no advantages over the 10/110's. They are less expensive, but they didn't improve on anything in their design.

Far more after market support for the 10/110 series than the Axis.

Thank you everyone! PSA sold out of the .308 so I went with the .270 trophy hunter xp. Looking forward to joining this great community.
