I am working on a 99C in 284 and need help in floating the forearm. Does the O ring go around the forearm screw or around the extention the screw threads into?

Adding the o ring worked good for me but, not quite a one holer. There is not much to explain, buy and o-ring from Lowes or any auto parts store. it should fit snuggly around the barrel stud. I think 1/4 or 5/16 inch is about right not where I can get to my rifles until April. Put it over the stud and screw the forearm back on. You and do a seach and maybe find photo on a Ruger #1 site same process.
