    100 yard backyard range

My target is top right and 4x8 bench is bottom right. This must have been this spring. I was suprised my little test bed has made it to google maps. Last I looked it wasn't.

You can see the dense woods . What you can't see is the old farm buildings to the east. Its like shooting in an echo canyon sometimes.

Nice! I don't know whether to be jealous or inspired. I'll go with jealous, because I'm lazy.

It works. I mow it a couple times a year. Sometimes just run the weeds down with a tractor with snow bucket down pulling a light disc.

It's just nice to have a known range for sighting and testing. I have an old mounted car tire to setup chronograph on in exactly the same spot each time.

Spring and fall we shoot from my neighbors driveway directly south of my bench about 100' or so on his field. Out to 250 & 300 yards. Usually across the hood or roof of my car. Kids really enjoy the longer ranges. 22 is a blast @ 250. Just walk it in.

His sister has land on the west side of a private lake 2 miles away where we can go out to 440 yards .

There are 2 or 3 ranges with 1000 yard targets less then 45 miles away. But I prefer the solace of our backyard shooting.

    Lakeside

This is their lakeside farm. Crap farm ground but great hunting and shooting.
