Hey guys was looking for an affordable rifle I can slowly upgrade as funds allow. I don't mind sinking money into a $300 rifle to make it equivalent to something more expensive. I just want to build up as I go. I never shot a bolt action rifle. Figured I'd start here as savage seems to have many options with a loyal following. It was between savage and the rem 700, but figured I can buy a cheaper savage and upgrade as funds allow to hopefully shoot as well or better than a 700.
