    Savages and love...

Some people say that none will compare to your first love... Never is that more true than with my rifles... Since I got my 111 in 30-06, all other rifles collect dust... So what would be better than that??? A Savage 12FLV in 223, the other caliber I reload... Took it out today, its tight, too tight, though smooth from being polished, and I dont remember the trigger being so **** heavy on my 111...

I am doing load development for it, and another point came up... It was ONLY shooting 1" groups!!! Was it me?? Was it the rifle?? Probably the loads... As if one could complain about that to begin with... But after I finished with marginal success, I decide to take old faithful, or the "cannon" as my friends begrudgingly call it, out for a spin with my trusty load of a hornady 165 btsp over 46.5 gr of imr 4895. Wouldn't you know... Less than a half inch!!!

So as I sit here and ponder the days trials and tribulations, I realize that Savages are like girlfriends... You fall in love with one, you forget all the time you spent pulling your hair out for so long, you just remember the good times, and that sweet, sweet, smooth... um... action... That came from over a thousand rounds, and you have grown so a accustomed to over the years!

But one must remember that in time, you will find its groove, and then you will have two love's... Giggety!

Don't ever try a 116 with all the bells and whistles in 30-06 LOL
I'm sure you've been warned about scorned women. :)
