    Long Range Hunter

Since I posted the pictures in the wrong place I thought I'd try to rectify that.
This is my LRH that I painted and adjusted the trigger on. That's all that's been done to this rifle.
I worked up a load using the Barnes 130 grain TSX FB with IMR 4350. I'd say it shoots minute of critter. The target, 3 shot group, is at 400 meters.

    Thanks, drybean.
I'm going to attempt to work up another load for it using a bullet designed for long range hunting.
I just can't leave well enough alone.

Very nice group! Don't want to assume or guess but what caliber/chambering? I use primarily Berger VLDs (.300 Win Mag) and Matrix VLDs (.270 AI) for my LRH now before I switched from NAB (nothing wrong with them, just prefer the VLDs; still use them on other chamberings I have). I have some 150 LRABs in .277 but haven't had the chance to test them yet.

    Good luck!

    Vince,

Matrix makes 150 and 160 VLD; it might be worth a try for you.

    Thank you.
I'm trying the Barnes LRX bullets at the moment. Will have to give these a gander.

I've got one in .338LM. I nipped the stock tip to the first rigidity plate. It helped close my groups up. I keep shooting thru my Inch mild plates tho. Makes me think I'm missing after three rounds or so. Lol

They are great rifles. You are shooting yours well.. Mine had a tight / out of specc chamber, to begin with: But after that issue was fixed -
    It's a dream.

    One issue,
I wish they made one in .340 Weatherby Magnum or .338 Win Mag. Between the 6.5x284 Norma and the .338 Win Mag there is little need for another rifle for me.

I might be compelled to pick up another two calibers in the future however.
Leaning towards the .458 Win Mag or the .416 Rigby on the big end and a .223 Remington bolt action on the small end.
