    Re: 308 for coyotes

Nothing wrong with the 308 as it's a proven long range killer. However, bullet selection is crappy for varmints. I think they make a 110 v-max although I'm not sure what the ballistics would be on that one.

Biggest thing to watch for is ricochets.....very bad!!! The last thing ya want is a bullet bouncing into the next county.

I have never use these in the 308 Win, but I've shot a ton of them in a 30-06. They are very explosive on target and I have never notice any ricochet problem.

Looking at the map, go south from Niota to US 136.....take that east pretty much all the way across IL to IL. Rt. 1. Come south on IL. Route 1 to Paris. Not a short drive by any means!

If you know where the University of Illinois is, I'm about 1.5 hours southeast of there.

125gr noslers shoot very good out of my model 10pc and blow big holes in coyotes.

You might want to give these a try.

Would seem ideal to me for varmints with a 308. It won't have the reach of a good 165gr lead based bullet, but I doubt most of us can shoot accurately, in the field, past 300yds. Still, I'd be willing to bet these will drop a yote clean, well past 400-500. Just an opinion.
