    Loving my first build!

started as a model 10 in 243, now a 6.5x47 with a criterion bull from jim at northland shooters supply, in a bell and carlson tactical medalist stock from Stocky's. It's a shooter much more capable than I am, hopefully more practice will address that.

Great picture! If you're up for sharing that photo, we'd love to add it to the shooter submitted build gallery on our website:

Woah, it could just be an optical illusion, but does the barrel have a reverse taper near the chamber? Sweet looking rig!

Wow, that is nice.. You'll have to tell us where in the heck you found Varget. Here in Louisville, KY it and RL-15 is Gold. I have not seen it in over a year. Guy at the last match hooked me up with 5 pounds cause he knows a supplier.

    Nice job Millertime2!

I have a Savage 10 FCP HS Precision in .308 that I just ordered a 28" Criterion bull barrel for. It looks like you have the same scope I have (Vortex Razor HD 5-20x50). What rail are you using and what rings? I currently have an EGW HD 20MOA rail and Vortex 0.95 height rings. I have plenty of clearance with the stock barrel. I want to make sure I will have clearance with the larger diameter Criterion bull barrel.

I believe it's a cheap Blackhawk 20moa but it is getting replaced with a steel TPS 20moa. The rings are medium vortex, I think you might be able to get away with lows but it would be really close. Yeah I love that scope I would like to sell my pst and get another razor!

Thank you. I took a bunch of measurements on the rifle as it is now. Turns out that at least for the length of the barrel that would interfere with the scope, the new Criterion is not very much bigger than the stock heavy varmint barrel. The stock barrel tapers after it leaves the stock area while the Criterion does not, but that won't affect the scope clearance. Worst case (lowest point on the front cap on the scope) I have over 3/16" clearance now, so I should still clear with the 1" Critereon bull barrel. It arrives Monday, so I'll know pretty soon.
