HB diameter at forend and muzzle

Question to anyone with a HB, particularly 308-family calibers: has the muzzle diameter been confirmed to be 0.730" as mentioned earlier? I ask because I was browsing Boyd's site and saw that the barrel channels near the forend tip are 23/32", which is only 0.01" smaller than the aforementioned muzzle dimension. If it's a straight taper back to the chamber, it might fit in a non-Tacticool stock without obliterating the rails. So, would one of you Savage bros be good enough take a measurement at the muzzle and, if you get a chance, near the end of the forend?

Cool, thanks! I guess that is too thick for the Classic.
