savage/stevens barrel question

I have a 11fcns in 204 . I want to get a Stevens 223 for 300 whisper. Could I put the 223 barrel on the 11fcns if I wanted. I have too much 223 brass and need a new project.

It will work.

I'd just build the Whisper on the Savage action and shoot the Stevens 223. Less barrel changing, more shooting.
