Price will depend on features such as blind mag vs. detachable box mag. Heavy barrel vs. Sporter barrel. Accutrigger vs. Non-accutrigger. Synthetic stock vs. Wood. Walnut vs. Hardwood. Other than that it does not matter much. Long actions are as good as short actions. Flat back are as good as round. Target actions are not easily found. They can be more. Target accutrigger will be more. Acustock will be more. Basic blind mag 10 or 110 will be about $300. Same with DBM about $350. All depends on what you want. I generally prefer long action so I can shoot long or short cartridges.

That is generally what I look for for donors. Can sell the barrel for $30 -40 the stock might be $15 or throw away. Member classifieds here usually have actions cheap.

I was able to pick up a 7mm mag model 111 DBM synthetic stock for 180.00 at the local pawn shop in town. Now what to build? this is going to be fun.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but my question kinda pertains to the topic of discussion...I was just looking at a new model 111 at my local sporting goods store, I want a long action for my next build but I want to make sure I don't buy the wrong action...the 111 is a 7mm mag, and I want to build a .308 bench gun....will I have any problems converting to a .308? I thought I saw somewhere that the shank on a magnum caliber is larger than a non-magnum caliber....

It will work, but you will need to be sure to get a large shank barrel for your 308. Yu would also have to change the bolt head. Personally, I would not go that route. There are plenty of 10/110's avail with the .473 bolt head and are normally cheaper than 7mm mags. Look around and you should be able to find a long action 110 in 30-06 (.473 bolt head, etc. ) for less than $300 or there abouts. Also, you do realize the .308 is a short action? No big deal, I have .308's in la and they work fine.

I completely forgot that the magnums have a different size bolt head, I'll hold out for a .30-06 or another non-magnum caliber. And yeah I know the .308 is a SA caliber, I just want to do something a little different from the norm. Thanks for the info!
