    Jack , I don't own any Savages in 22 lr but I own several in other rifles in 22 lr . CCI Standard is an excellent low priced entry level target ammo . Prior to the recent price increases and high demand for 22 ammo it was cheap considering the performance it offers . Accuracy will vary from different lots , but overall it is hard to beat for the money . I have to step up to Wolf , SK or recently tried Norma TAC 22 to better it's performance . The CCI will shoot under 1/2 '' at 50 yards out of both of my CZ's with occasional fliers . It shoots extremely well out of my pistols also . I have not found another subsonic round to match it at the same price .

    This ammo consistently gets good reviews. I will be trying the hollow point version of it soon, sold as Sub-Sonic 22 LR HP, 1050 fps.

    Hi guys
    In our club we have members who have CZs and use the CCI sub sonic hollow point for hunting small game rabbits etc. Also there is a German target ammo RWS in various forms. Do you guys get that over there? It is quite good but upper end price at £90 ($151) per thousand.I will try the SK. I was not happy with Ely Match and Sport bearing in mind the reputation they have and the cost so, unless the SK performs I'll be using CCI standard for competition.

    We had a country show over here and I met the Savage rep they seem to have their act together as a company he said last year they made and sold 650,000 rifles. I have had my BSEV for about 8 months and I am very pleased with it. I plan for a 223 later when funds allow and will well consider another Savage

    Jack , the RWS ammo you speak of is probably the Norma Tac22 labeled ammo that I spoke of . It is made by RWS and is in the same level of Wolf target and SK Standard Plus . Currently I have been paying 49.95 per 500 round brick plus 10.00 shipping charges US currency for the TAC22 . A good bargain at todays ammo prices . I have gotten comparable accuracy from it compared to the Wolf and SK . It has been readily available also .

    HI Reseman

    Just tried 5 round of RWS target rifle at 50 metres / 54.5 yards. Not too bad apart from the 'flyer' in the 8 ring

    Five shots @ 50 yards with Ely Subsonic HP with the FV in the Tupperware stock. I will be trying the CCI sub-sonic this weekend (in a modified Boyds' stock), which will hopefully do as well;

    Hi

    Is that in a Savage? I have not seen that the extra for Ely is better than CCI. Good group you shot

    I use only CCI Standard Velocity .22 Long Rifle in my Smith and Wesson 41. The gun likes most target standard velocity ammunition and never fails to cycle with any target ammunition. I have found the SV CCIs to be the overlooked "Match" ammunition for years.

    Yes, MKll-FV. I'll be trying the CCI tomorrow, which I'm hoping is as good.

    Will post photos of targets.

    The Ely group was shot with the Tupperware stock and unmodified trigger. The rifle is now sitting in a pillared/bedded Boyds' Rimfire Hunter stock and an Apachee trigger modification set to 30 ounces. I will also shoot more groups with the Ely for reference.
