For the people that say that an Axis/Edge rifle can not shoot.

He is a picture of a target I shot today (7/26/14) with my Savage Axis/Edge rifle at the SE Ohio Golden 600 yard match. This was 5 shots at 600 yards. the total group measures 2.258 inches, with 4 shots measuring .620. (Just over 1/2 inch.) I think this states how much potential the Savage Axis/Edge rifles have, and how well they shoot.

Fantastic shooting of course! That's also fantastic hand loading with very very low SD and ES numbers. Thats from your fully worked Axis that Fred did his magic on correct?

Yup, Fred did the action and the stock. (After mine I made cracked in the bolt area.) The Barrel is a Pre-fit Shilen from NSS. Weaver t36 scope.
I could only see the stray shot in the scope, so I new the other shots was in the blue. When the target came back I heard some commotion, and I thought "wow some one shot a good group." Then I had a few people come over and shake my hand and say "good shooting Pat." I then went over to the wailing wall, and my jaw dropped when I saw my target. It was truly a magic moment.

Very incredible shooting Pat! Two questions, what caliber?, and did you shoot that group on a run or where you waiting for a certain condition? Your knowledge is priceless.

The caliber is 6 dasher. The first shot is the one that is low. The flags was laid down I fired the shot and the flags went crazy, so I waited out about 3 minutes for the flags to lay back down, and when they did I ran the last 4 shots. (the cluster.) Bullets are Berger Hunting VLD (orange Box.) with 32 gr of RE15

Just goes to show that a good shooter can make anything shoot well! Great shooting. With the modifications you've made to your axis it doesn't surprise me. I've always said it's all in the quality of the barrel and the shooter more so than in the action used.

Wow! Throw out the flier and that is nearly .1MOA. I'm unfamiliar with this competition- is it prone off a rifle rest?

Amazing shooting! From the chair to the muzzle, all part of the system were working perfectly.

Were those the 115gr or 105gr Berger VLD hunting bullets? I cooked up what appeared to be an astonishingly tight-shooting load with 115gr bullet in my .243 Winchester, but I've yet to put it through the wringer.
