    Integral scope bases

Saw a 110 at LGS with steel bases appeared to be welded to the action, this done by the factory? And reason to shy away from it? Just want the action for a build

Did it look like this one? If so the bases were soldered on at the factory. If you look close you can see the solder beads between the mount and ring. IIRC by the S/N someone said it was a '88 vintage.

Depending on the build it would be OK to use. What's the asking price?

Thanks bill! Yes that's exactly what it looks like!

Asking price is 250$ and it's been on the shelf for a few months and the stock is scratched up. I think I could get it for 200 out the door with cash. What are the negatives to a soldered on base?

I just saw one like that, too. I think the same story... looked like it had been there a while. I hemmed and hawed 'cuz the price was a little over $200, I think.

I decided against it 'cuz I would likely want a 30mm scope. other than that, I don't see any issue.

Only the scope mounting length and the eye relief you need. For me it wasn't an issue. For you??? Worst case, you may have to use extension rings.

The good, you don't need worry about them coming lose. The bad, the receiver isn't drilled-tapped. I was going to remove them, but got lazy, put a new '06 take off on it then gave it to my son in law.

Other than that it would be perfectly fine for a build.
