    257 weatherby. anybody done it??

Thinking of doing a 257 weatherby from a 7 mm mag or 300 win mag donor. Anyone done it. Thoughts on it?

Yes I have one what can you say it is 25 caliber of pure awesomeness, it is a McGowen 26" 12 twist varmint I canshoot anything from 70gr Blitzkings @ 4500FPS to Berger 115gr Vlds @ 3800Fps, by far the best balance by far between speed and weight I have found are, Nosler 85gr and followed by the 100gr both ballistic tips, just a heads up you don't have to use Weatherby brass, you can use necked down 264 WM and 7mm Rem Mag, they come up 50 thou short but the grow to specs in no time.

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.

I don't know much about this caliber, but that sounds pretty badass!

I like the .257 Wby. It is arguably the flattest fastest shooting long range cartridge compared to any other caliber.
