hello all, i am new here and this is my first post. i just got another savage, it is a 340 in 22 hornet. i got it with a 2x7 usa redfield. it looks like it was never shot almost new. i have had 2 other 340 hornets and a 30-30 this one with factory ppu ammo will shoot the same hole with 3 shots. i have been handloading sence 1970 i will try some of my loads next but it will be hard to beat the ppu. i will try to post some photos tomarrow so stay tuned.
my question is when was my gun made? it has a plain walnut with no pressed checkering, and the bluing is a lot better not as rough looking. it has a place for a peep site, the mount is made better than any other i have had. the sel. no. is 1340xx if any one knows how to tell please let me know.
