    Oh Boy....

Well my buddy and I were reassembling my 111XP to go off to the range and we over torqued the front action screw...

    I mean its really tight...

    Allen wrenches just spin..

The screw head didn't snap but it wants to strip, and the bolt cycles fine with a round..

    what should I do?

Should I see how she shoots?

Don't sweat it, get yourself a Torx driver a number 27, and tap it in, the sharp edges will drive themselves into the striped corners of the fasteners, easy as pie remember now a #27 not #25 and not a #30 they are very common.

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.

+1 on what Dean said. Same advice he gave me and have used it twice without a hitch!

I guess selling tools for all those years did come in handy after all.

I wished I had read this last week, ended up grinding and drilling one out.

This what I did to get a stripped screw loose.

My question is, do you just replace it with a screw from the hardware store, or get replacements from Savage?

Hardware store will work. Might not have exact head as Savage. Might sit flush might not. I never worried about it til I did a build for someone else. Plan on doing some cutting and or grinding g. No big deal.
