    Savage 110C series J 22-250 need help

I was handed down this rifle and I was wondering if there is anyone that knows if there is a aftermarket stock for this rifle with a detachable mag and maybe a heavy type barrel also. Also if anyone knows if it's a good gun. Thank all

SSS or Stockade should be able to help with the stock and barrel, dunno if there is a DBM setup available for it, or if one can be made to work.

Look on the home page for Fred Moreo's article on magazines. I got a stock for that "J" series from Boyds about 4 yrs ago. Barrel swapping can be done on that rifle and by the way, it is a good rifle. Be aware it is a short cartridge on a long action, one of Savages first attempts at using short cartridges and is a true long action but with a different mounting bolt spacing that a stock maker has to know. The bolt is modified for short action cartridge length. If you swap to a long, 30-06 length cartridge the bolt will require a new bolt head and baffle and firing pin.

tThere area few that can make you a stock. You have to be sure they understand you need the 4.522" screw spacing for the 110 short action, not the 10 short action.

no you do not need a new bolt head. The .22-250 is the same. while the .30-06 is to long to be anything other then a single shot , anything based on a .308 will work.

The only stock that Boyds would make for the "intermediate" action was their JRS stock. That coulda changed, but thats what I was told when I called about mine.

SSS or Stockade will make one for you though.
