New style bolt handle on old style flat back action.

Got a savage factory tactical bolt handle on my old flat back receiver. Any reason not to file/sand down the top contour to match?

Just be prepared to put some effort in. Sometimes those handles are as hard as diamond, and others are as soft as a rotten melon. the last one I did like that I milled it with a carbide mill and it cut it nice, but my file barely scratched it until I got through the outer surface hardening.
