Kinda slow lately, so..... This ain't 'rocket surgery or brain science'... ha ha
Was fireforming brass for the new 243 AI HB Axis today. My shootin' buddy asked how come my rifles looks so good.

OK, I have a safe full of Savage rifles including some 'purdy' M12s and M25s. Several simple steps to improve the looks of the Axis:
1. add a bipod and Allen, stock mounted ammo carrier
2. since most of the Axis rifles have been rechambered/rebarrelled, usually the factory (black) finish gets marked up by my aluminum bbl tools. I just clean the bbl with lacquer thinner, let it warm up in the toasty Florida sun and shoot it with Krylon Satin black. Perfect match.
3, when the stock is off for the mandatory trigger job, wipe it down with lt and shoot it with Krylon Crystal Clear. Dries instantly and looks cool.
4. Before the clear coat, use Krylon "Webbing" spray in white, silver or gold, then clear it. Tough finish....

I have NO association with Krylon, it's just has always worked perfectly for this old goat.

Oh, on a SS gun, like my new .17 WSM HB, polish the bbl....... Looks as good as my McGowan SS 6.5 TCU.....
