Just bought my first Savage. It's an Axis in .223 and I thought I could learn from the group. Got my NRA hunter safety card in 1964 and have been hunting ever since. Mostly only hunted pheasants for a good portion of my life till a friend introduced me to quail. Then my father gave me his 1958 model 70 Winchester in 30.06 and I started getting into rifles. Then reloading. I hunt mostly hogs and deer but in general I just love guns and reloading. If a gun is not accurate, I'm not interested. I understand the Savage is really good as is the .223 cartridge. I'm still waiting my 10 days before I can pick it up. Already reloading for it.
