Nice groups everyone, groups that small can be hard to measure. I can't say I have any that are as good.

I understand what you are saying, and theoretically the bullet would make a .243 hole or dark ring in the paper and then it would be appropriate to use .243. However if I did that on this group where the edge of the group measures ~.395 and subtracted .243 it would artificially shrink my group .023. Let's say I shot a perfect .000" group and measured it to be .220" across like in the photo with the one bullet hole. If I subtracted .243" Ot would say I shot a negative group. This is the reason I use the ring because it is a consistent size. You wouldn't not the difference if the group was .723 vs .700 but when it's small it makes a difference. The photos below are from the ballistics AI app and the target was scaled to make the measurements correct. In the first one you can see the hole size of .220 was used and it matches perfectly. The second one shows what would happen if I used .243". I didn't move the markers, but you can see if I did it would shrink the group.

Hey Keyhole, is that an app that measures/estimates group size? If so, please share the name! Thanks.

Yes, the app is Ballistic AE and I think it is available for iPhone and android. It's expensive but it comes with a good ballistic calculator and will store target pictures and measure groups. It has some other neat features as well.

I will have to look into the app, it is $20 on iTunes.

Check out this group, it was shot at
    200 yards,
    off hand with sling,
    with a2 AR,

by a guy who has 1 hand and a prosthetic hand (left)

One thing's for sure, I've yet to shoot a group worth bragging about with this Stealth - mostly due to the FAB Defense buttstock they put on them from the factory. This has been the "norm" with this rifle. Three or four shots in a nice little cluster, then one or two out in left field because I lost the fight with the stock on those shots.

Here's the last group I shot today at 200 yards as a perfect example. If you exclude the one that I dropped way low it's a 3/4" group, but with it included it's almost a 2.5" group. Aggravating as all get out!

The rifle clearly wants to shoot, I just can't seem to win the fight with the stock for five consecutive shots. lol

Played with my 75gr A-Max loads in my .223 last weekend by trying to seat them deeper. I went .003 deeper with six sets of bullets to see if I could find a magical node. It happened at .021 off the lands. I went back on Sunday in the wind to see if it was repeatable. It is. 100 yards

Just started load development for a Savage 12fv in .308. Going pretty well so far. 5 shots @ 100yds.

This is a 5 shot group from my .22-250, also a 12fv, a couple of weeks ago. Still haven't been able to do it again. Lol

This was from my MTU profiled, 3-groove .223 Bolt Action

    80.5 gr Berger Fullbore

Here's what my rebarreled Savage 10T/MDT TAC-21 shot a couple weeks ago, prone/bipod at 100 yards. I do like my Atlas PRS bipod

15 Rounds. Had to use the reticle "hash marks" to center on the "X" by lining them up with the outside of the black bull's eye.

    6.5 C/M 140 gr ELD-M

Had the new B22 FV 22LR out for a little T&E today shooting some CCI Select. Who wants to guess how many dirty names I called the fifth and final shot on this 5-shot group at 50 yards?

I totally know what you're taking about. Every range trip it happens, usually more than once.

Here is a pic of 5 shots at109 yards. MK II (heavy barrel) shooting Eley-Match or RWS-50 (can't remember which of the 2)

I am am still in the load testing phase, so my group isn't centered, but my first group of 5 at 100 yards was about 1/2", which I had done a couple other times, but I was still pleased with it. Then, I shot this group! I couldn't see the holes well because of the light, so I wasn't sure of what I was seeing. Boy was I pleased!

The rifle is a 12FV in 223 from Cabelas shooting 69 grain SMK over 23.8 gn of IMR 8208, loaded at mag length. It has a Harris bipod and I shoot from the prone position.
