Bought above mentioned gun and after dry firing and raising bolt to recock, cocking indicator(bolt release) does not come back up to reset the trigger unless you do it manually. Is this normal ? Gun is 30/06 Thanks !!
Is it a single screw or 3 screw trigger and have you done any work to it or has someone else? If you just bought it and haven't looked I would inspect the trigger to see if someone who didn't know what they were doing may have tampered with it, but it may be as easy as making some simple adjustments.
Sounds like he messed with the over travel adjustment on the trigger. It needs to be backed off. The sear is binding on the trigger and not allowing it to be reset..
Or spring is busted on sear
Or not assembled properly.
I would start by removing the stock and taking a very sharp clear well lit picture of the sear and trigger area
Also check to see if the rear of the trigger is coming in contact with the stock just above the rear trigger guard screw. This will also cause what I believe you are describing as the problem. If you remove the trigger guard and work the bolt you can see what is happening inside the stock at the rear of the trigger.

Just found a break down on the trigger group. Guessing I will need the bushing also ? Got any pointers on trigger adjustment ?
Well I would start by backing off the two on the rear of the trigger and concentrate your efforts first on the sear engagement screw where the step is.
Once you get the trigger where you want adjust the one for the safety. When the safety moves back it will move under the rear set screw. You want to screw it down till it hits the safety and back it off just enough so the safety doesn't drag on the screw. Test the trigger with the safety on and make sure you Cant trip it. If it goes off the tighten the screw a hair and try again. Next adjust the screw next to that. Its the over travel adjustment. Too tight the trigger with hand up on the sear after the gun goes off.
This is standard three screw stuff you have four. Not sure is the forth is spring tension or what
First things first get a sear return spring in there fyi its a pain to put together. I hear its easier with the trigger shoe removed

Installing the sear torsion spring is a piece of cake. Use a slave.
Insert the slave, a pin punch in this instance to align the holes in the action, trigger housing and sear stopping it just short enough to set the spring in place then push the slave through the coils to capture it.
Looking close you can see the end of the pin punch is through the coils of the spring.
Next angle the pin in against the the tip of the slave, square it to compress the spring then push and follow the slave out.
Easy!!!

Without looking I cant say but I do know its a serious Pita to get back together. Good news is once you do it'll be a piece of cake doing everything else
