    Savage Model 12BVSS

Did the earlier models have a black receiver with a diamond grip on the stainless bolt? The one I got in a trade has these features & I noticed the newer ones are all stainless with a plain round bolt grip. Also has an adjustable trigger (adjusted internally) that's not an accutrigger. Anyone have any info on the earlier models?

In Savage's model coding "SS" means stainless steel, so something is not right.

They were all that way until 2000. After that the receivers were stainless.

Thanks for the info. Heres a pic of it. Does the Pre Accutrigger reduce the value of it?

I'd say only if you are looking at it for trading material & the stock trigger is poor.
For a shooting gun, If the trigger is nice no.
