    209 Primers

I was toying with they Idea, of starting to drill out the primer pockets and start using 209 primers, every gun shop has them and they are never out of them, and they are more potent than mag primers. thoughts

Big issue could be having to rework your load since the 209's are fairly hot primer. How much could it weaken the case I wonder?

Might have a tiny blowback issue :)
It's better to shoot for the moon and hit the fencepost than to shoot for the fencepost and hit the ground!

Since scatter gun primers are roughly about .180" longer than rifle primers you could say goodby to the flash hole.

Change tiny to great big and that is closer. If you have ever gotten any brass from the black powder blank shooters such as 45 colt or 44-40 and not realized the flash hole had been enlarged greatly, it can get exciting very fast and that's a low pressure cartridge.

I would advise harshly against this as it is insane. If you need primers get set up with powder valley and order some. Their prices are great and worth the time to send them a copy of your drivers license.

Great idea, Dean. Why not try to make rifle-shot shell loads, at oh, say, 4000 fps? You could shoot geese in the next county lol.
