Believe these are only a step below the PST version. Here's a Comparison with the PST if the link works for you. I would say the only differences are features, SFP, Less Elevation Adjustment, capped knobs instead of target knobs, different reticle options and no Illumination.

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.

Several of big name outlets have been putting the Viper HS on sale, for a good price, but not the Dead Hold BDC model, just the V-Plex reticle. I compared the Diamondback HP to the Viper HS and decided there were more than enough of the same features that I ordered the Diamondback HP 4-16x42. Yeah, there won't be quite as much light since the objective is a few mm smaller, but I can live with that. It is going on my 6.5 Grendel AR.

I believe the "PA" stands for paralex adjustment.

When you see them go on clearance everywhere like that it usually means that particular model (or models) is being discontinued by the manufacturer to be replaced by a new model this coming year. In this case it sounds like they've clearenced out a specific reticle option or two - likely due to their not being as popular as the other offered reticles.

    I run one on a 308 win.
Good glass, a little picky eye relief.
Limited adjustment, 42 moa total if I remember correct even with a 20moa base I need to use the bdc for the last little bit to 1K but it works.
For $400 it is a nice scope, limited but nice.
