Savage Model 10 .243 twist rate

I picked up a Savage Model 10 in .243 win with a 20" sporter barrel and I can't find any info on the twist rate. It's a G prefix but it's a pre accutrigger model. Is there anyway to determine the twist rate without calling Savage?

Use a cleaning rod with a jag and a patch. Watch to see how many inches it takes for the cleaning rod to spin one revolution. Wa-la!! Thats your twist rate.

Thanks for the info! I looked up the serial # on the savage site and it's a 10fxp. What's a good price for an fxp in good condition?

I only paid $25 and threw in a 6 pack of O'Douls so I'd say I stole it!
