Hi, Do not claim to know all Savage history, But a 110 c is a lot newer than 1899. I have a 110 from 1961, 30/06. there wasn't a 30/06 cal in 1899. came out in 1903,renamed 30-06 in 1906. Pictures shore would help.
I have an old savage 30-06,barrel has 30-06 model 110C stamped in it ,but when I look up the s/n it tells me I have a 1899 made in 1910 ( s/n is 104490). It also has iron sights on the barrel. I only gave $100 for the gun I just want to no what I have. any help will be appreciated if pictures are needed I can post some. I have fired around 75-100 rounds 30-06 through it with no problem.
I do apologize if I'm in the wrong tread, just wasn't sure where to start

I have been lookin around on line and I have came to the conclusion the Barrel has been swapped out to a 30-06 what confuses me is the serial number pulls up 1899/99 date of manufacture is 1910 and when I enter it in to the 110 serial number it dosent pull anything up but it's a bolt action( long bolt) It could have started life out as a .303 round. I will post pictures when I get home
I'm having problems loading the pictures on here I can e mail them if you would like
Sure , Go ahead and E-mail them. Because it sounds like some one put a Savage 99 bbl on it,(if it can be done?) Which i don't beleave it can.
The 99 was never chambered in 30-06, the dating calculator you were using was for 99's, not 110's.
What you've got is a mag fed Savage model 110 in 30-06 made in 1967.
Savage- "never say never".
Well , there you go bolt action. It's a 1967. Newer than you thought.
