First post! hello everybody. question on action screw torque on my fcp-k

Hello, just joined today. I have a question on action screw torque for my fcp-k. I have a manners T4 stock and I just got it pillar bedded. When I got it back I was told to put it together with 55"/lb. torque on the action screws. I have usually ran 65"/lbs. on all my other bolt guns. This is my first savage, so I have to ask the question. Was the 55"/lb recommended because it was bedded? What is the torque on the fcp-k action screws? Before I had the bedding done, my go to load was shooting lights out. Now it has opened up a bit. The only thing I can think of it the torque on the action screws.

    Welcome to the forum
Make sure the tang is free floated. along with the barrel
I am not sure what torque your rifle stock screws should be but 65 inch lbs seems high, but you should be able to get the value from Manners
35 to 45 inch lbs is what most of my rifles are set at but mine are laminate and plastic stocks
If the pillars are installed correct, I do not think the differences in torque will matter unless the action is not contacting the pillars the way they should be
    I hope this helps
    Jack
