    Where to find a SR 4.27 spacing Savage?

    I didn't think it would be this difficult to find a rifle in 308 with 4.27" spacing. I must be missing something with regards to specific models or what I'm looking for.

    My thought would be looking explicitly for non-accutrigger savages in 308, but I haven't found a single one yet looking through statewide armslist posts, gunbroker or Facebook gun groups just yet (Or here for that matter).

    Were there any specialty/specific savage models that were in 308 that are guaranteed to have 4.27" screw spacing that I should be looking for?

    Maybe Staggered Feed (SF) is what the OP meant. Almost universally When I have bought guns from auction sites.the seller never lists whether it is SF or CF. Most don't even know the difference. I have to look for clues in photos like safety and trigger style or if you are lucky you can see a serial number and run it on savage part finder and see what type it is. I have made mistakes once or twice. Best bet may be to search for a stevens 200. Most of the older ones where SF. Look for old style narrow safeties.

    Autocorrect = SA (Short action).

    FOXX has messaged me with what I think I need - A stevens 200 in 308win.

    All I'm looking for is a cheap(ish) rifle to put in this short action, 4.27" choate ultimate varmint stock that I have. What he's offering me just might be a good fit.

    I'm sure I'm not the only person to get a smoking deal on a stock and then have to build a gun off it.

    BTW, technically (as per forum rules) you should have psted a wtb ad in the classifieds. but, because we are both paid members anyhow, I figured we'd get away with it. But it's still not considered kosher.

    Question: Are all Stevens 200's Stagger Feed? Or just the older ones? I know I bought an old-stock, new Stevens 200 a while ago, and it was stagger feed, but not sure that they all were.
