I know this does not directly answer your question, but find some IMR4064 for those. Hornady 168s. 42.8gr with a Rem 9 1/2 primer and you will thank me later.
This might seem like a stupid question. Has anyone use H4198 powder to load an accurate load for 308 win with Hornady 168 gr match bullets. I know that powder is used for light bullets, I use the H4198 in my 30 BR with 120 gr 10X bullets. The problem is, If I can find the IMR4895 powder that I use for the 308, they are out of stock on the other powders that I use. I don't want to pay the Shipping and Hazmat fee for a small amount of powder. I can't find 110 gr Vmax or match bullets any where, and I don't want to use the expensive 120 gr 10X bullets.

never heard of using 4198 on heavy bullets I use it on my 30BR 117 gr bullet. but I do like 4064 on my .308, if I knew how to post a picture I show you my latest groups.
My favorite powders for 308 are IMR4895 and IMR4064.
Yes I have I started at 35gr and ended up at 40gr of H4198, not the most efficient load but got the job done, when powder was really scarce.
