Varmint barrel in factory wood sporter stock?

Anybody hog out a factory wood stock from a 10/110 for use with a varmint contour barrel?

If so, I'd love to see some pictures.

i don't have any pictures, but i tried to do it with a wood router and a larger bore curved router bit. big mistake
i later learned to use a piece of pipe with sandpaper wrapped around it. i haven't yet tried it, but i've heard it works well

Take any round object and wrap in sandpaper, real easy to do and as
Long as you go slow you won't even be able to tell it's not

To touch up edges
With stain.

Thanks for the picture; I primarily was curious about how it would look aesthetically, some 100 grit and a socket will make quick work of the wood.

I was surprised just how hard the wood was.
I would sugest that you start with a 60 grit and follow up with the 100 grit.
You will also find that the front of the stock requires the most work, but you may already know that.

This isn't a "sporter stock", but it is a factory Savage VLP stock. Heavy laminate with a varmint barrel contour...
