Practical or Ruger it's just too easy.

20 Vartarg, 20 Practical, or 20 Tactical; pretty hard to make a wrong choice! For your purposes, any of the 20's would serve you well; and don't forget the 204 Ruger. Hot and accurate lots of choices of factory ammo if you ever get in a bind.

Ok, how about 20 vartarg vs. 20 practical? Would one have any advantages over the other?

For long range and windy conditions, bullets in the 50 - 60 grain class work well. Go with a 7 or 8 twist in a 20 PPC, 20 Grendel, or 20 BR.

sledder, between the Vartarg and the Practical, I don't think you or the intended targets will be able to tell any difference at all! The Practical is more practical, but the V has a certain snob appeal. Ballistically, they're so close in performance that you'll never know. Shop your best deal and don't ever look back.
