I am down to about 200 hornady 140 amax in my reload stock and I was wondering if anyone had shot the lapua scenar 139's in their 12LRP or other comparable rifle. They are only available by 1000 count boxes and I dont want to buy them if they do not shoot well. I have seen them used alot in PRS matches but I need to know if they will shoot in the 12LRP. I have been really satisfied with the amax and hate to buy something different, but sadly they are no longer available. Any input on the scenar or another replacement that shoots well will be appreciated.
Their bullets have very good quality control and shoots about the same as the amax out of my custom Savage 10 IMHO. I've shot it out to 1 mile but I favor the AMAX over scenars at 1 mile and the 120/123 grain any farther than 1,200 yards. You just to do your work up load and play around with the COAL until you find that sweet spot for your rifle...
Thanks Mike. I wont have any issues out to 1000 I guess? How long is your barrel an is it a 1/8?
I didn't have any problems with it at 1000 yards... I have a Bartlein straight contoured 30" heavy bull barrel and I can not recall if It has a 1:8 or 1:8.5, I'll get back at you when I get off work...

Thanks. I have a 26" with a 1/8. They will probably do fine. I shoot most days around 600. If you can shoot a mile with them I should be fine!

Its a Savage 12 LRP and I have been really shocked with its accuracy. I dont want to carry it far though!
Sounds good! Give us an update on it... Yes those LRP's are really good rifles, heavy, but accurate... The Savage Rifle Team competes with straight out of the box Savage rifle and winning matches and setting world records.
I shot a five shot 0.41 MOA group at 540 yards last week. This is it. With the Vortex PST 6-24x50 I have 1900 in it. Not too bad I Guess.
