    Boyd's Stock - Savage 11 Hunter XP 308 - Metal Component?

Im looking to buy this stock:

    http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/produc...15&scid=549518

    It states:

MUST READ: If you have a XP model with a synthetic stock, you will need to purchase the bottom metal component system through Savage or any aftermarket component supplier.

Due to the many variations of trigger guards that have beed used for Savage Actions. Boyds uses a flat bottom metal design. Fitting for plastic and some metal models may be needed or contact Savage or Brownells for the flat bottom design.

I called Boyds but she said I would need it, but didnt know the part number.

Anyone know what part I will need?

    Thanks!

I don't know the parts numbers. I believe the Savage 11 Hunter XP still has a top side bolt release vs the newer bottom trigger guard bolt release. If you want a metal center feed DBM. You will need a metal DBM metal frame assembly (surround) and the metal magazine box bottom cap. Remove the plastic bottom cap from your current metal magazine box and follower and snap on the metal bottom cap. Best way to find these parts is to contact Savage Arms Parts with rifle serial number or go to www.SavageArms.com and use the parts finder menu. Tell them you want a metal DBM frame assembly, bottom cap and trigger guard for your Savage 11 short action, centerfeed with top side bolt release.

Use serial #G800911 and order the following parts:

FRAME ASSY SHORT MATTE (DBM) - PN: 106238 $68.00
    TRIGGER GUARD MATTE (AT) - P/N: 105417 $24.00
MAG BOTTOM SHORT MATTE (DBM) - PN: 106245 $19.00

These are all matte finish, not glossy. You'll probably also need to order the screws from Boyd's.
