I am building a stock for my new axis .223. I want a 10 round mag for it as well. Since I am building the stock myself can I use any .223 ten round clip and make it fit into my stock? Will the gun work properly? I hate the mag that came with it so I was hoping I could replace it.

I have absolutely no experience in stock making but my Mechanical Engineering experience says that if you were to get the height and tilt of the magazine right, it should work.
Mossberg has their MVP rifles with that special bolt and the only thing that says you might not be able to do it, is you may not be able to get the magazine high enough to strip a round out of the magazine, while also closing the bolt the entire way. Which is what lead Mossberg to design a whole new bolt assembly for the rifle.
