Savage Super Sporter Model 45 - Looking for Replacement Stock

Hi,

I have a Savage Model 45 - Serial number 5450. Cal. 250-3000

I'm looking for an original replacement stock (the one I have is cracked at the pistol grip). This is the checkered pistol grip and forend.

Anyone know where I could find one or have one replicated?

Good luck! Those were made from 1926 thru 1940 and while they sold fairly well compared to similar models of the era they weren't exactly huge volume sellers given the bulk of their production run fell within the Depression era. There's also zero aftermarket support for them and the only replacement parts available come from guns that have been disassembled. If Numrich's doesn't have anything then you're probably going to be SOL.

I did get one quote to replicate the stock...care to guess what they wanted for it?? ($1,000). Guess I'll just try to minimize the visibility of the one I have. It's been solidly repaired with dowel rod, etc. Nice gun...well balanced and accurate shooter. Has the Lyman peep sight as well. I like it a lot.
