    large shank/small shank/target?

When ordering a prefit for a target action will any large shank barrel work as long as you use the correct barrel nut? Looking at McGowen Outlet they describe target action but when looking at McGowen Barrels its just large or small shank and to determine what you have, measure the barrel nut. If I understand it correctly the target action is large shank but uses a shorter barrel nut?

There are only 2 shank sizes: Large and Small. Some vendors refer to Large shanks as Target action shanks. The Large/Target shank Barrel Nut is shorter than the Small/Standard Barrel Nut regardless of whether it is from a Target action or a Standard action that is Large Shank.

    Large/Target shanks are 1.115-20 TPI.

    Small/Standard Shanks are 1.055-20 TPI.

A large is a large and a small is a small. That's what I was wondering. Thanks!
